Gospel singer Ajayi Aduke Morounkola, widely known as Aduke Gold, has passed away.

The news was confirmed on Tuesday morning by fellow gospel singer Esther Igbekele, who wrote on Facebook, “A GENERAL HAS FALLEN. ADUKE GOLD #rip.”

The cause of her death remains unknown at the time of this report.

Aduke Gold, originally known as Aduke Penkele, hailed from Ilesha and grew up in the Ogba and Badagry areas of Lagos. She was the 11th child in a polygamous family.

Her rise to fame began with a live performance at the first remembrance event for the late gospel artist, Baba Ara. She officially started her music career in 2004.

One of her notable tracks, “Nitori Ogo,” released in 2021, further cemented her place in the gospel music scene.

Aside from her music career, Aduke Gold was also a dedicated child educator, passionate about teaching young children. She holds a degree in History and International Relations from Lagos State University and a second degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Lagos.
