Dr. Doris Uzoka Anite, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, has disclosed that the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protest has led to an estimated economic loss of over N500 billion.

In a statement shared on her official X handle, the minister expressed deep concern over the deaths and extensive damages resulting from the protests.

According to her, approximately N52 billion worth of goods have been destroyed, and the death toll from the protests has reached 21. She highlighted that the looting during the protests represents a significant setback for businesses and entrepreneurs across the nation.

She stated, “The loss of lives during the protests is deeply saddening. My thoughts are with the affected families. The looting, which has resulted in billions of naira lost, is a major blow to our economy and entrepreneurs. We must honor those we’ve lost by pursuing more peaceful and constructive dialogue.”
