In a recent video shared on her Instagram page, Adanma Luke expressed her profound sorrow and regret over the devastating loss. Visibly emotional, she said, “I’m sorry. I know I can’t bring back the dead. Please forgive me. We all loved JP. I’m gradually losing myself…”. Her words resonated with the pain and guilt she felt, acknowledging the irreversible nature of the tragedy.

The ill-fated journey took place as the cast and crew were traveling by boat to the film’s location. Reports indicate that the team was not provided with life jackets, a crucial safety measure that could have potentially prevented the loss of life. Among the victims was Jnr Pope, a beloved figure in Nollywood, whose untimely death has shocked and saddened his fans and colleagues.

Following the accident, Adanma Luke faced severe backlash from the public and the industry. She was subsequently banned from producing movies, a decision that reflected the gravity of the incident and the need for accountability in ensuring safety on set. However, after a period of reflection and perhaps demonstrating remorse and commitment to improved safety protocols, she has recently been allowed to resume her work as a filmmaker.

As Adanma Luke attempts to rebuild her career, she continues to grapple with the consequences of the incident, seeking forgiveness from a grieving public while promising to honor the memories of those lost.
