On Monday, September 2, 2024, the Nigeria Police Force arraigned 10 protesters involved in the #EndBadGovernance demonstrations in August. The protesters, who face charges of treason, inciting mutiny, and intent to destabilize Nigeria, were brought before Justice Emeka Nwite at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The accused individuals, identified as Michael Adaramoye (also known as Lenin), Adeyemi Abayomi, Suleiman Yakubu, Opaoluwa Simon, Angel Innocent, Buhari Lawal, Mosiu Sadiq, Bashir Bello, Nuradeen Khamis, and Abdulsalam Zubairu, all pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Federal Government also included a British citizen, Andrew Wynne, aka Andrew Povich, as a defendant in the case.

The charge sheet, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/454/2024, alleges that the defendants conspired between July 1 and August 4, 2024, to commit treason, intimidate the President, and destroy the National Communication Commission (NCC) in Kano. The charges are filed under Sections 95 and 97 of the Penal Code.

The court has scheduled the trial and ruling on the bail application for September 11, 2024. Until then, the defendants remain in custody.
