The Lagos State Government has taken action against Donald’s Fast Food, a restaurant owned by popular Nigerian socialite Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chiefpriest, for persistent noise pollution, lawlessness, and other environmental violations. The closure is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to maintain public order and enforce compliance with environmental regulations across the state.
Located on Adebayo Doherty Street in Lekki Phase 1, Donald’s Fast Food had reportedly been the subject of numerous complaints from nearby residents and businesses regarding excessive noise levels, particularly during late hours. According to the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), the restaurant failed to adhere to multiple warnings and directives to address the noise disturbances, which had negatively impacted the community.
In addition to noise pollution, the restaurant was cited for other environmental infractions, including improper waste disposal and non-compliance with the state’s sanitation laws. The authorities expressed concerns over the establishment’s disregard for regulations designed to ensure the health and well-being of Lagosians.
LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, reiterated the agency’s commitment to creating a healthier and more livable environment in Lagos. “No one is above the law, and businesses, regardless of their owners’ status, must operate within the state’s environmental guidelines,” Dr. Fasawe said.
Cubana Chiefpriest, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and business ventures, has yet to respond to the closure of his restaurant publicly. The Lagos State Government emphasized that the closure serves as a reminder to all business owners to comply with environmental laws, warning that similar establishments found in violation of regulations will face similar consequences.
This move aligns with the state’s broader mission to curb environmental hazards and ensure businesses in Lagos operate in a manner that does not compromise the safety and comfort of the community.
