Patience Umo Eno, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, has passed away following an illness. The sad news was confirmed by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, in a statement released early on Friday.
According to the statement, Mrs. Eno passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Thursday, September 26, 2024. While expressing the Governor’s gratitude for the support received during this difficult time, the commissioner mentioned that further details would be provided in due course.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She passed away peacefully at the hospital in the presence of her family,” the statement read.
The family, while mourning their loss, asked for privacy and prayers as they navigate this challenging period. Governor Umo Eno also extended his appreciation to those who have stood by his family and assured citizens that, despite this personal tragedy, his dedication to serving the state remains steadfast.
