A multi-storey building under construction collapsed on Saturday morning along Oremeta Street, Ojodu Berger, Lagos, leaving scores feared trapped beneath the rubble.
The building reportedly housed the popular EqualRight Restaurant, a well-known spot for locals and visitors.
The collapse occurred around 8:00 a.m., catching residents and passersby by surprise.
Emergency responders from LASEMA, the Lagos Fire Service, and security agencies are on-site, working to rescue trapped individuals.
According to Dr. Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, five people have been rescued alive so far, while search and rescue operations continue.
