President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday led a host of high-ranking government officials to observe the Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the Dodan Barracks prayer ground in Lagos.
The prayer session marked an important moment of unity, and religious observance, as Muslims across Nigeria celebrated one of the most significant festivals in Islam.
The Eid prayer attracted dignitaries from various levels of government and across party lines.
Among those in attendance were the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar; Minister of Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; and Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammed Matawalle. Also present were former Minister of Works, Babatunde Raji Fashola; Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Hamzat; and Professor Shaffideen Adeniyi Amuwo, among other dignitaries.
In his remarks after the prayer, President Tinubu urged Nigerians to embrace peace, tolerance, and national unity.
He emphasised the significance of Eid-el-Kabir as a time to reflect on the values of sacrifice, compassion, and devotion to God.
