Nigerian singer Simi has advised people not to live solely for the love and validation of others.

She stressed the need to remain grounded and stay true to core values like truth, kindness, honesty, and faith.

Simi warned against relying solely on others for validation, noting that their love and appreciation can be temporary.

Rather than chasing external approval, she encouraged individuals to uphold their principles and maintain humility, even when they’re widely celebrated or admired.

Taking to X on Wednesday, she wrote: “Don’t live for the love of people. It’s fickle as phyuk. Live for truth. Be kind. Be honest. Live for God. And when people do show you love en-masse, don’t bask in it too long. You MAY acknowledge it – but keep it moving. Because people forget. And if you forget that, you will suffer”.
