The Federal Government has officially declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, as public holidays in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

The announcement was made on Wednesday through a statement by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, via the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.

In his message, Tunji-Ojo congratulated Muslims on completing Ramadan and encouraged them to uphold values of self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace. He emphasized the need for love, forgiveness, and solidarity to promote harmony in society.

He also urged Nigerians to use this period to pray for the nation’s peace, stability, and prosperity, while reminding everyone to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged in the true spirit of Ramadan and Eid.

On behalf of the Federal Government, he wished all Muslim faithful a joyous Eid Mubarak, hoping the season brings happiness, success, and fulfillment to all.
