Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has made serious allegations against fellow artist Davido, claiming that authorities arrested him on the orders of the popular Afrobeats star. Krane disclosed the arrest via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, August 22, alleging that it occurred on grounds of defamation, following a series of accusations he had leveled against Davido earlier this year.

In his post, Krane expressed fear for his safety, suggesting that Davido might be orchestrating further actions against him. He urged the public to hold Davido accountable if anything happened to him, saying, ‘If anything happens to me, @davido should be held responsible. Oppressor @davido has paid them to arrest me.”

Krane alleged that certain individuals planned to falsely accuse him of involvement in cryptocurrency scams, targeting Flutterwave, a Nigerian fintech company. He also accused the police of being complicit, writing, ‘They wrote a petition, lying that I am into Flutterwave and crypto scams just to arrest me. This is how they keep using the bad cops to spoil the name of the police.”

The feud between Dammy Krane and Davido is not new. It dates back to 2023 when Krane publicly called out Davido over an alleged unpaid debt. In response, Davido dismissed Krane’s claims and described him as “ungrateful,” highlighting that he had provided financial support and shelter to Krane during a difficult period in his life.

Tensions escalated when Krane accused Davido of being involved in the 2017 death of their mutual friend Tagbo Umeike, which occurred under controversial circumstances. The accusation, made just days before Davido’s wedding, caused a significant stir on social media.

As of now, Davido has not publicly responded to these latest allegations by Dammy Krane. The ongoing dispute has left fans and observers divided, with many awaiting further developments.
