Nigerian singer Oyindamola Emmanuel Johnson-Hunga, better known by his stage name Dammy Krane, spent six days in police custody before his release, following an alleged defamation controversy involving fellow music star, Davido. The incident, which garnered significant attention in the entertainment industry, led to a heated online spat between the two artists, culminating in Dammy Krane’s arrest.

Dammy Krane’s detention reportedly stemmed from accusations of defamation made by Davido, after the singer publicly called out the “OBO” crooner on social media, accusing him of unpaid debts. The public exchange quickly escalated, leading to legal actions that resulted in Dammy Krane’s arrest.

During his time in custody, Dammy Krane’s plight caught the attention of popular social media influencer Verydarkman, who took to his platform to plead with Davido on behalf of the detained singer. Verydarkman urged Davido to show mercy and give Dammy Krane a second chance, emphasizing the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation in the music industry.

Just hours after Verydarkman’s public appeal, Dammy Krane was released from detention, marking the end of his nearly week-long ordeal. Upon his release, the singer took to social media to express his remorse and extend an olive branch to Davido. In a heartfelt apology, Dammy Krane acknowledged his actions and expressed regret for any harm his words may have caused.

“I apologize to Davido for any pain or misunderstanding that my actions may have caused. I was wrong, and I hope we can move forward from this in peace and unity,” Dammy Krane stated in his post.

The singer’s release and subsequent apology have been met with mixed reactions from fans and industry insiders, with many praising the resolution of the conflict while others continue to debate the implications of the controversy.
