Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Worldwide has voiced its support for the recent hike in petrol prices, expressing optimism that President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies will yield positive results. In a statement released by their acting national leader, Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, on Sunday, the group commended the president’s efforts in restructuring the petroleum industry, viewing the price hike as a necessary step towards long-term benefits for Nigeria.
Okpalaezeukwu emphasized that President Tinubu is not responsible for the ongoing fuel crisis, attributing the current issues to mismanagement by previous administrations. Following a meeting with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, the group affirmed its support for the ongoing reforms in the petroleum sector, stressing the importance of policies that would benefit ordinary Nigerians.
The group also lauded President Tinubu’s administration for increasing crude oil production and urged more youth engagement to tackle challenges such as vandalism and theft in the oil sector.
