Team Nigeria’s men’s 4x400m relay team, consisting of Emmanuel Ojeli, Ezekiel Nathaniel, Dubem Amene, and Chidi Okezie, has been disqualified from the final of the ongoing Paris Olympics. The disqualification came after one of the athletes was found to have stepped on the line during their semifinal race.

The Nigerian quartet had earlier achieved a season’s best time of 2:59.81 seconds, finishing second in their semifinal heat on Friday morning, August 9. However, their performance was nullified due to the infraction, leading to their disqualification from the event.

As a result, Team South Africa, who initially finished last, has been advanced to take Nigeria’s place in the final. This disqualification marks a disappointing end for Team Nigeria in the men’s 4x400m relay at the Paris Olympics.
