Lagos commuters faced a nightmarish gridlock on April 2, 2025, following the closure of the Falomo Bridge, which links Akin Adesola, Ozumba Mbadiwe, and Ikoyi.

What should have been a quick 15-minute trip stretched into nearly four hours for many, with some residents still stuck in traffic well past 1 AM on April 3. Frustrated motorists described the situation as one of the worst traffic crises in recent years, surpassing the chaos caused by the closure of the Third Mainland Bridge.

The sudden standstill left commuters exhausted, with many calling for better traffic management to prevent future disruptions.
