Iconic rapper Laycon has publicly accused DJ Neptune of failing to pay him for his contribution to their 2020 hit single “Nobody,” which also features Joeboy. Laycon took to social media to voice his frustrations, alleging that DJ Neptune has not settled the financial terms agreed upon for his role in the track’s remix.

The original “Nobody” was a collaborative effort between DJ Neptune and Joeboy, and its immense success spurred fans to advocate for Laycon’s inclusion in a remix. After Laycon won Big Brother Naija, he joined Joeboy and DJ Neptune to release an updated version of the track.

Despite the remix’s success, DJ Neptune has yet to publicly address Laycon’s claims. Laycon’s fans, known as Icons, are backing his allegations, noting that the rapper is not known for seeking attention or creating drama. They believe his complaint is valid and a genuine concern.

The song “Nobody” had an impressive 12 remixes featuring a diverse array of artists including Mr. Eazi, Kardinal Offishal, 4Korners, Jayd Ink, MazMars, Seidosimba, Daffy, Dylan Fuentes, Tayc, DJ Ab, Magnito, J.Derobie, Joeboy, Konshens, Namenj, Zoro, Nuno, and Voice. The extensive list of collaborators highlights the track’s widespread popularity and the significance of each artist’s contribution. 

Laycon’s call-out adds a new layer of drama to the track’s legacy, as fans and industry insiders await DJ Neptune’s response to the allegations.
