Former Ogun State Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, has urged Nigerians, particularly the Yoruba community, to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu despite any perceived shortcomings. Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) South West Zone Assembly meeting in Lagos, Osoba emphasized that Tinubu’s presidency represents a collective achievement rooted in Yoruba leadership.

“Now that Bola Tinubu is there, I want to plead with all of you to accept his shortcomings. He will do better. After his first four-year term, he will serve another four years as a Yoruba son,” Osoba stated.

Osoba further emphasized the unity among Yoruba leaders in supporting Tinubu’s leadership and expressed confidence in his ability to fulfill his promises during his tenure. He also reminisced about the pivotal role South West leaders played in 2007, enabling Tinubu’s rise from Lagos politics to a national role.

“Bola didn’t make himself the president of Nigeria; we did,” Osoba recalled, highlighting a meeting held 17 years ago where Yoruba leaders collectively decided to support Tinubu’s transition from governor of Lagos State to the national political stage.
