Augustine Eguavoen has officially resigned from his role as the interim coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles following the completion of his two-match mandate. The announcement came on Tuesday after a 1-1 draw against Rwanda. Eguavoen, appointed after Bruno Labbadia declined the position, had earlier led the team to a commanding 3-0 win over Benin Republic.

Expressing his satisfaction with the team’s performance and the support from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Eguavoen explained that his engagement was always intended for just two matches. He hinted at his willingness to support the team moving forward, sharing insights for future matches, especially against Libya while emphasizing the bright future of the Super Eagles.
